Arizona Recycling Coalition receives Fry’s Waste Warriors donation

Kroger and Fry’s Food Stores is on a mission to end hunger and eliminate waste in their stores nationwide, including here in Arizona. Each of the Fry’s locations competes to divert as much food waste as possible from local landfills, and then celebrates by donating to a local non-profit.

The Arizona Recycling Coalition (AzRC) expresses its sincere gratitude for an $8,000 donation from various Fry’s locations here in Arizona as part of their effort to reduce food waste in their stores.

Donations like these help to fuel our mission to promoting waste reduction, reuse and recycling efforts through education, outreach, networking and strong partnerships.

“These funds will be used for both program grants and sustainability-focused scholarships from throughout Arizona,” said Terry Gellenbeck, chair of the AzRC. “We appreciate Fry’s contributions to sustainability throughout Arizona.”
