Mesa and Gilbert collaborate on local recycling facility

The City of Mesa and Town of Gilbert are teaming up to address the growing demand for recycling services by planning to establish a locally owned sorting facility.

The facility, located in Mesa at Pecos and Sossaman, aims to expand recycling services, alleviate reliance on third-party companies, and meet residents' recycling expectations. Mesa's Solid Waste Director, Sheri Collins, emphasized the need to keep up with residential and business growth, stating, "We are collaborating because of our mutual interests of residents and businesses and to share expenses."

This joint effort reflects the cities' commitment to sustainability and ensuring an efficient recycling process.
